Our approach
Reviews that weigh trade-offs, not hype
A course and a software subscription solve different kinds of problems, so we look at what you actually get from each. The useful question isn't only what a tool can do; it's whether those features fit the way you'll use it. A strong recommendation should leave room for the drawbacks, too.
Every review at skill reviewer is written to help you decide, covering who a product suits, what's included, how pricing and recurring costs work, and where its limitations might matter for your situation.
Our method
How every review is built
01
Acquisition
We obtain each product through standard access, including trials and purchases, so the evaluation reflects what a reader would actually receive.
02
Realistic testing
Each tool or course is tested against everyday workflows rather than vendor marketing sheets, with notes on setup, daily use, and friction points.
03
Syllabus and feature review
For courses, we review lesson structure, materials, and pacing. For software, we compare documented features against what works in practice.
04
Limitation audit
We record costs, recurring fees, missing features, and the situations where a product is a poor fit, and keep those findings in the final review.
Affiliate disclosure
Independence in every recommendation
skill reviewer earns commission when readers purchase through some of our links. Those partnerships never influence review conclusions, ratings, or the flaws we highlight. If a product performs poorly in testing, the review says so, regardless of whether it offers an affiliate program.
We update reviews whenever pricing structures or feature sets change, and we clearly mark affiliate links on every page. If you spot an error or have a correction to suggest, reach out through our contact page and we will review it promptly.
